Romantic Lampion Garden

BATU NIGHT SPECTACULAR

First day in Batu hadn't ended yet. We continued the journey to Batu Night Spectacular. This place is actually a theme park operated evening only. They had many rides that would blown your heart away, literally! Such a best place to whom that addicted to adrenaline rush. Since, I am not the kind of person, so I didn't get the feelings that much, even more when I doubt the safety. So, bye bye #YOLO! To kill the boredom we entered the most favorite spot to take pictures here, yes the Lampion Garden. The garden was so romantic, especially when you came with your lover.

Ferris Wheel in Town

BATU TOWN SQUARE (ALUN-ALUN KOTA BATU)

Google said that "Alun-Alun Batu" is the best town square in Indonesia and you know what? They had giant ferris wheel you had to try. Of course we didn't want to miss the opportunity to ride the ferris wheel and enjoyed the scenery from above. Another venue you gotta try is the culinary experience. The obligation of every visitors that came to this spot is trying the famous sticky rice with many flavors and toppings at Pos Ketan Legenda Batu and Ganesha milk. Don’t be surprised with the queue!

We didn't take so many pictures there because of the crowded and lighting. People were in many corners, It was impossible to get a clear view. These are some pictures taken from my facebook friends who are photographers. Credit to Awang Cahyadi and Iwang Cahyadi. Great photos!

We were starving and tired so we didn't take so much good pictures of ourselves. Bummer.

Daisy and Butterfly

SELECTA RECREATION PARK, BATU

This is our second destination after visiting Kusuma Agrotourism earlier. Why did we choose to visit this unpopular tourism venue among Instagramer or blogger was simply because we would like to take pictures between flowers.

This place was actually a casual park and it was terribly crowded on the day we were coming. They had children playground with playful animal statues, swimming pool, restaurants and the most attractive one, thematic flower garden!

Flirting With Nature

Dear fellas, another spontaneity leads me into an unforgettable journey.  With 2 of my best friend (Dilla and Sari) I explored Malang and Batu, East Java as our destinations on 18th-21nd October 2014. I promised you in my Instagram account to recollect the whole story puzzles and story-telling it to you.

In fact, between March to October, everyday is summer in tropical country type like Indonesia. Since Indonesia only has 2 different seasons, dry and rainy seasons, so yeah. That’s gonna be a perfect time to have the real picnic, like mostly people do on summer in other part of Earth. Anyway, Batu’s weather is magical, the sun shines brightly but the wind blows greatly. The temperature is in the medium level at noon (bright but windy) and cold at night. It brings advantage because my make up lasts the whole day.

The theme of first day outing was ”flirting with nature”, so that would be grass field, greenery, flower, garden, butterflies, fruit, trees, etc. My costume choice for that day was a light, contrast and colorful. I chose material from cotton fabric so that it would be comfortable and can absorb the sweat well.

First, lemme take a selfie :)

KUSUMA AGROTOURISM, BATU (Apple Self-Picking)

Agrokusuma is one stop educational and recreational destination contains area of hotel, restaurants and villas, outbond activity, paintball, flying fox, waterpark, horticulture and  fruit garden. Such a perfect place for family’s getaway. We took a normal package for tourist IDR 50k, including guava and apple self-picking and having a light snack in the end of tour (toast bread and guava juice). The garden was sooo huge, luckily the management provided shuttle van for the visitors. We could only choose one option whether took 2 apples directly from the trees or enjoyed eating the apples as many as we wanted from the apple’s basket (provided). The scenery? Beyond great, it was fantastic.

And these are some spectacular view and objects that we captured

And of course just travel in style!

Tips!
If you are in the middle of the trip and you want to keep stylish, don’t bother yourself with too many layers outfit. Besides they’re gonna burn you (especially in the summer/ dry season) that’ll limit your movement as well. For me, as a simple person, comfort is the most essential one. Wearing accessories is acceptable as long as it’s matching your outfit and place you’re going (situation). Simple make up is also necessary, don't forget to use the sunblock cream.

One Day YOLO Getaway

On Sunday September 7th still on Picnic Week Series, I and my internship partners had a quality time together finally after 1 year. We went to South Jogja to try the real picnic experience with mountain air and fresh flowing water. Shortly after a quite long road trip, missed direction, and how “passionate” our driver (which was my friend) drove the car, we finally arrived in our first destination.
Let me explain my total outlook on that day, since I knew that would be full of movement on that day so I chose to wear a simple outfit and didn’t forget wear my running shoes. Best travelling pal ever! Electric blue as pop up color never failed me and white top was needed to neutralize the color and they looked good together. I got my miniskirt from Pink Emma (Indonesia’s fashion local brand) as a present because I won their quiz (It was a total luck). I combined it with denim tight and batwing top with some gold studs on the shoulders. That tartan shirt was actually My Fathers that I found in the closet, ups! Of course I completed the look with favorite camera printed pouch. Voila!

Imogiri Pine Forest

This spot is the hippiest venue among Instagramers to take misty and #vsco friendly pictures. Without missing any seconds uselessly, we enjoyed the view by taking so much pictures and selfies instead of having a real picnic experience. A real picnic experience here means, spread out the carpet, having a delicious dishes and warm chit chat. No! but who cares, we talked a lot (and eat snacks a lot) all the way here so It was a total time to take outfit photo, especially for me. Haha. Unfortunately, since that day was Sunday, there were a lot of crowd almost in every spots. They were dating, having picnic with family or friends, or even pre wedding photo shooting.

On my bubble wishes, I imagined I got a sweet surprise because the result of my outfit photo shot was out of my expectation. It beyond perfection, especially the background and a heaven-look-alike-light emerged between the trunk and leaves. How it seemed like in Nami Island, South Korea, the shooting venue of popular Korean Drama. Unfortunately (again), the result was yes totally out of my prediction. The camera we used was really good on creating a blur-background-look as I wished. The problems were on the photographer (the owner was pro but the person who took my pic was lil bit perhaps not having the expertise) and the model (which is me).

Some of my photos with a good pose and expression mostly blurred and some of clear photos displayed a weird pose and fail expression of me. My make up was also messing up after a long journey and had no time to touch it up. It disappointed me so much knowing the fact that I am pretty good on finding the perfect angle, directing good pose, and adjusting lighting to others but fail on my own project. Probably I have talent on fashion photography instead of photo modeling. So excuse me for lack of good photos taken here, I am so sad :”(

Lepo Waterfall
We cancelled our visit here because the river was out of water although in fact we had already arrived in the village where that waterfall’s located. No wonder because actually we came in a wrong time, on that time was dry season so I thought we should revisit one day. That natural waterfall is worth to be visited.

Mangunan Fruit Garden

I hadn't get chance to take personal photos because I couldn't resist the hot temperature. This venue is one of the most popular tourism objects to take a good photo among Jogja Instagramers. Not literally a fruit garden because there were a lot of fruit trees with no fruits. The favorite place to spend a picnic time here was actually on top of the hill where we could sit back and relax while our eyes were feasted by the panorama. That was my third visit I guess, but I never had enough. We could feel the dry breeze since the weather was so hot in the midday and the most fascinating thing was we could see the Selopamioro Hanged Bridge (I posted it earlier) from this point. The river down there, the green mountain range, and the blue sky were combined into a perfect God’s painting. Superb!

The pic above is how it looks right now

This pic is old photo from my preceding visit

Ngobaran Beach
I almost gave up with the trip since it didn’t run as smooth as I planned. We lost directions for several times until we (finally) visited unplanned destination. (since I didn’t want to blame anyone, so say it as a misfortune) We decided to still go to the beach although the distance was far and the road wasn’t really friendly. We also had to pass some dangerous and deadly road who any people want to avoid. I hate that. How hardcore the road and how inpatient the driver (of other vehicles) almost brought us into tragedy. In a narrow road on our way to the beach, firstly we passed several busses until one bus nearly hit our car, it was about 10 cm away from the bumper. My heart was about to jump out from its place, since the car was mine. After we could conquer the obstacle, we met another bus that fell into a cliff, horrible. The most adrenaline pumping road trip ever! (that I don’t wanna retry).

Actually that was my revisit to Ngobaran beach. Unfortunately, we arrived to the beach nearly dusk, so we couldn’t enjoy playing with water between the big reef. Then, we took a good selfies in front of the statues and temple, a glimpse of Uluwatu beach in Bali. Ngobaran’s was a cliff type beach, how similar with Bali’s beaches and yeah I always love the Ngobaran nuance. We spent the sunset time in Nguyahan Beach, Ngobaran’s neighbor. The beach’s slope was slighter so we could dip our barefoot feet into the sea water and catch small fishes.

Sorry, I've lost my make up

Hill of Stars

We took a little time enjoy the hill of stars on our way back to Jogja. The sparkling of city’s lights looked so shiny and bright up here, mesmerizing stars-on-the-sky look alike. For me who love stargazing and skywatching, this one felt so romantic, especially when you went with your lovers J Since I didn’t have one so, It just…….oke stop here.

Satay Klathak by Mr. Bari in Jejeran Market

Yeah we had an unplanned dinner in Bantul Region at the end of the day. Some of us wanted to taste Satay Klathak by Mr. Pong. What is satay klathak? Let me explain you briefly. It is a grilled meat, actually a baby/young goat meat being grilled without any spices except salt. Yes only salt. The cube slices of the meat are pinned using bicycle grating. This satay becomes a culinary icon of Yogyakarta because of its uniqueness and originality. The delicate meat melt tenderly in your mouth with a simple taste but so original. All we knew that Mr Pong restaurant had the best Satay Klathak in town so went there. And…..yeah everyone else seemed have the same idea with us because the visitors were so crowded. We cancelled our plan and move to the pioneer of Satay Klathak in town, Mr. Bari stall in Jejeran Market. My friends said that the satay here had better tast, not as popular as Mr. Pong’s though. Many celebrities had visited this not-look-like-a-food-stall since it’s only located in a traditional market open veranda.

Great time with good friends, what do you expect more?
